Island Psychiatry's mission is to provide patients with as much access as possible to high quality comprehensive mental health care. As a diverse group of mental health practitioners, we are able to diagnose and treat a broad range of psychiatric disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

We are seeking a Child Psychiatrist to join our expanding multidisciplinary Mental Health Practice located at our new office in Port Jefferson on Long Island.  This person will serve as a key member of our leadership team.  Island Psychiatry, PC was founded with the aim of providing a broad range of high quality mental health services. Medical Office Administrator

We are seeking a medical office administrator to join our team of case managers. We are currently staffing mental health practices in Port Jefferson Station and Huntington Station, with the potential for more accounts to be added.

Character:
We are looking for a entry level mental health professional who is looking for the perfect starting role for their career in mental health. This would be a fit for someone who is compassionate with high energy and flexibility who is self-motivated and organized with excellent computer (PC), phone and problem solving skills. We have a "willing to do all mentality" when it comes to running the practice and this position requires a high level of flexibility in day to day tasks from working directly with patients to supporting clerical work.

Hours:
Flexible openings between Monday - Saturday, evening availability a plus.


Responsibilities:

  • Patient reception and case management

  • Day to day administration of back office using multiple computer programs

  • Answer phones live and respond to live chat messages

  • Respond to email, text, and fax messages

  • Schedule patients, reschedule patients, maintain providers schedules with accuracy

  • Submit Superbills to insurance

  • Relay phone calls and messages to administrators and providers through discretion

  • Troubleshooting

Skills:

  • Experience as an administrative assistant with professional phone experience

  • Excellent computer skills (you will be required to pass a basic computer skills test for this position)

  • Familiarity with mental health, medication and medical practices a plus
